    The Kannai Housing block ‘Zoom’ sits on a corner site well-connected Yokohama Kannai Train Station. Particular attention was paid to creating building’s façade as unique and characterful as the post-war buildings surrounding the site. Our strategy was to bring out the concrete floor slabs to amplify and echo the area’s horizontal linearity. We also used the shoji-like paper-thin concrete fins to break the monotony and introduce playfulness, and to conceal the small units behind them.
