Sunlight

Owned by the Japanese as our client, the “Sunlight” is a Japanese-style café where the tatamis and sliding doors specifically set the main tone as Japanese. To present the modern atmosphere, the designer ornaments the café with the entrance, aluminum windows, storage cabinets and furniture in plain structures that consistently emphasize the main background of the café. To renovate the 10-year house into a modern café, the designer examines the marketing strategy and physical conditions, who ultimately suggests a design plan for a bigger balcony and sufficient sunlight appealing to people thereafter. To enlarge the indoor space, the designer installs sizable windows that cause intensive visual interactions between the indoor and outdoor space. Moreover, the Japanese-style paintings and art works fascinate pedestrians. For its people-oriented affections, the café sooths disturbing nerves in stressful urban life.
