Living with Migraines, one learns how to cope with it by various means. For myself, I digitally paint what I’m feeling, seeing, and experiencing. While the Migraine approaches, auras begin emerging and pain, sharp like an ice pick piercing my brain, colludes with raw throbbing. Until the medicine takes hold, it endures. All too often, the Migraine nearly wins the attack and my entire self collapses in a darkened room. Absent of noise and light, I sink into the darkness, surrendering to the attack until the agony subsides at some point within the next few hours or days. Painting is my relief.

Bio
I am a self-taught photographer and digital artist. Many of my photos are street photos of people going about their day, architecture, and unusual views of places. You will frequently find me lying on the ground, crouching oddly, and contorting to find the photo I need to capture. As one who has also been living with Migraine, I can now enjoy digital painting as something that I may rely on during an attack if it is within manageable means. Whatever the means, my art is my salve and permits me a means of artistic expression and escape.
