This project centers around the importance and implications of integrating the human element in the development of blue-green infrastructure (BGI) design with the Fanling New Development Area in Hong Kong, which intersects the Ng Tung River selected as the site. “Rising with the Phoenix” means the re-emergence of social, and cultural connections with the river and water as part of the local communal identities. It is the re-invigoration of local ecosystems and hydrologies. It is the coexistence of people with water. It is about working with water, living with water, and rising with water.
