In this work I assume the roles of imaged personas in masquerade summoned from my subconscious, representing an emergence and coalescence, of becoming. In the masquerade I channel women who came before me, the constraints imposed on them, by society, family and themselves, their resignation, surrender, and the strength and courage they harbor. The work is an homage to and for women who endure, acquiesce and struggle with the weight and responsibilities carried as wives and mothers, the traditional female roles, compromising personal desires, aspirations and unrealized potentials.

Bio
My work for the past five years has been an investigation of a woman's place in the world, and the progress made individually, collectively and societally, by my personal experiences, explorations, conversations and observations. Prior to the current self portraiture work, Conversations with Myself, I explored my relationship vis a vis my family of origin, in Sweetie & Hansom, a seven year project, to understand psychologically my personal development and amassed a clear understanding of my philosophical perspective on life.
