The holiday home is an ideal hideout for relaxation among a pine forest in the upcountry dry zone region of Sri Lanka. The simple yet elegant structure of this cottage is a result of a rethinking process which converted the existing caretaker’s room. The adaptive reuse of left over timber palette boxes and the careful detailing of materials are salient features of this project. While incorporating the nature of the forest and the notion of being in the woods diligently, the simple yet smart interventions of this project is sensitively built with a small footprint.
