    Gold Mind

    Gold Mind is a story all about gold. As an Artist that has lived in California for over 15 years, the history of the Gold Rush runs deep in the Californian psyche. I wanted to combine what gold is to the world, both in a sense of consumerism and fascination with the natural mineral/element. Gold Mind literally pushes the gold through the piece and becomes an abstract message of gold itself being the Art. The piece is made from acrylic, whereby an acrylic box houses the gold leaf pieces that press together to become almost bouillon in form, which is how gold used to be transported.
