    Commemorating the Zodiacal Year of the (Metal) Rat 2020, Wearable Biology—Snout Collection spans a synchronistic journey, reimagining medieval chainmail as couture jewellery, onto the present pandemic and the unfolding of a “Disunited States” through the evocation of a medieval plague doctor mask, visually synonymous with the conical shaped hat of the KKK. Moving to a conceptual focus upon chain solely, my most recent work within the collection is a 2020 pest-inflected critique of the medieval Scold’s Bridle, which colonially morphed into the Iron Bit or Gag: a barbaric slavery mask.
