My dad suffers from Dementia/Alzheimer's disease. He doesn't know who I am anymore and when I look in his eyes I know he is not my loving dad anymore. As devastating as this is, I look at old photographs of him as a child, as a young man, as a dad and try to find him in his smile, in his gestures, in his moments in time.
As hard as it is for me to photograph him in his current state, it's even harder for me to think that he has no memory of who he is.
My photographs are a way for me to imagine his fractured memories deal with this loss.
