"Culture, A Heritage II" is the second, acrylic painting in my series, "Culture, A Heritage". This piece was inspired by a Bahamian cultural festival, Junkanoo. Each year the Junkanoo groups "rush" down Bay Street in their hand-crafted costumes, floats, and headpieces. My piece is an interpretation of this colorful festival. The entities in my painting take the form of their costumes and headpieces, becoming Junkanoo itself. This represents freedom and individuality, similar to Junkanoo.
