With a recurring emphasis on hands, this black and white series of seven digital photographs explore the theme of ritual, mysticism and pagan traditions.
The curious combination of images tells an ambiguous story. Anonymity is a strong theme within the work, relating to the demonisation of people practising witchcraft and herbal lore. Femininity is another strong theme resonating in this work, with the majority of modern practitioners being women. These women have a strong relationship with earth and the natural world, thus the photographs have been taken largely in this setting.
